FAQs

How often should my diving cylinders be tested?

All diving cylinders require safety testing every 2.5 years. This testing program safeguards both the user and staff employed at dive centres providing air fills. The test takes two forms: A Hydrostatic test every 5 years and a visual test every 2.5 years. Cylinders designated for guns only require a Hydrostatic test every 5 years.

Can you prepare my cylinders for Nitrox?

For divers wishing to use their cylinders with Nitrox we are able to perform an additional oxyge clean at the same time as the test. Oxygen cleaning lasts for 15 months so getting it done at the same time as the test is the most cost effective way of doing it.

What is included in a Hydrostatic test?

Once booked into our test centre, all necessary manufacturer information on your cylinders is noted. We will then remove the valve and any stickers. Your valve will receive a service and ultrasonic cleaning, prior to reassembly. To complete the test, your cylinder will undergo an internal and external visual and structural inspection. We will then refit your valve, carry out final checks and fill your cyclinder with air.

Valve Servicing what’s involved?

As part of a Hydrostatic or Visual test your valve is removed, serviced and cleaned prior to refitting.
